Kamran chaired a very successful inaugeral halal Professional Muslim
Singles Evening in Manchester on July 11, 2003, at the very highly
respected Sanam Sweet House & Restaurant, 145/151, Wilmslow Road,
Rusholme, Manchester, M14 5AW.
All attendees
were vetted rigorously in order to ensure that as many like-minded,
responsible, dignified and upstanding professional attendees
were present at the event. Professionals were represented from a
diverse spectrum of fields, including, amongst others, medicine,
dentistry,
nursing, law, accounting, journalism, the media sector, consultancy,
IT, marketing, engineering, science, and banking.
Kamran was specifically
requested to organise the groundbreaking July 11 occasion by very
concerned Muslim parents right across the
UK and
their children, many of whom are outstanding professionals looking
for a suitable counterpart. The strategic aim of the event was
to foster an intelligent networking community in which Muslim male
and
female
professionals could meet each other against a matrimonial backdrop,
though within the precincts of a halal setting and environment.
It was felt by both sets of stakeholders (parents and children alike)
that rather than parents chaperoning their children at the event,
which is the traditional norm, the surrogate guardians or chaperones
in this
case would be Kamran and his consultancy associates, each of whom
belongs to the same generation as the attendees. This it was felt,
by both
parents and children in unison, would more likely lead to a more
relaxed initial dialogue amongst the attendees with any subsequent
dialogue
and developments taking place with the parents‚ knowledge.
The event had the personal support and endorsement of large sections
of
the Muslim parent community. This specific type of singles event
is intended to complement the more typical family, social and work
circles
normally relied on to find a suitable counterpart. |
